Winter gets a bad rap -admitedly for good reason: it’s cold, it snows (which is only fun when you’re a kid unless you’ve somehow manage to remain a kid at heart), it’s damp, windy, the days are shorter and your stuck at home out of necessity not choice. But while we can agree winter hardly deserves to be anyone’s favorite season. We’re still a fortunate bunch if we live to see it. Here are a few things to keep in mind when the “weather outside is frightful”.
#1 Mr. Whiskers, Even cat lovers can get bogged down with the day to day of work life, school, friends, etc. But in the winter you’ll probably be a lot more settled. Give Mr. Whiskers a cuddle, enjoy the warmth and do yourself a favor -relax. P.S. if you don’t have a cat the bigger point is to relax and enjoy the slower pace.
#2 We admit Winter fashion is by far not our favorite fashion season but it’s still got a few things going for it, when else can you pull out the wool coat, winter boots and a heavy scarf? Enjoy the warmth of wool, fleece and cashmere and thank God for a season to enjoy them in.
#3 Food. Don’t pack it on of course but winter can be a wonderful time to indulge in a bit of foods that you may not have time to bake up during the warmer months. And don’t forget cooking provides a little extra heat in your living quarters. So whether you indulge in some morning pancakes, hot coco or take the time to bake some pie enjoy the warmth, the sweets and the company of your close ones. Just remember to keep up your exercise at home so you don’t gain the winter bulge.
Let’s be honest dear readers the cold season won’t be going anywhere we might as well learn to love it.
